Oversized Tires Come into Use! General Motors Thailand Plant Sets Record

On March 1, GM (stock code: 601500) Thailand
factory successfully rolled out PCR maximum specification tire 40*15.50R26LT
(M/T). The external diameter of the product is more than 1 meter. The section
width is 400 mm, the rim diameter is 26 inches, the weight is about 45kg, the
single tire bearing capacity of 1.7 tons, and its appearance and characteristics
are very "domineering" in Thailand. Tire enterprises can be said to
be "unique." This new product was rolled off the production line.
Through tire structure design, formula design and meticulous production process
planning, GM Thailand factory achieved innovative breakthroughs and set a new
record, laying a solid foundation for promoting high-quality development of the
factory.
With an investment of US $300 million, GE
Thailand Plant Phase I is the first overseas production base established by the
company to seize the opportunity of the "Belt and Road" initiative
and is also one of the largest projects invested by Chinese manufacturing
enterprises in Thailand that year. In December 2021, GM invested another $75
million in its Thailand base to further enhance capacity scale, warehousing and
logistics capacity and expand its international market share.
